Material List Black Ant (imitation)

Hook - #10 up eye salmon
Thread - Black 8/0
Body - dark olive thread
Black deer hair 8 to 10 strands for tail
Black razor foam tied in at tail and 2/3rds way up hook
Throat - black deer hair some clipped some long
Head - pull black razor foam over deer hair and tie off.
Yes this is a steelhead pattern that I scaled down to use for cutthroat on the Chehalis and Harrison rivers.
Reason being this type of pattern is more durable than most black ant patterns.

Lol, mostly skate, but dead drifting works well also. It really depends on water speed.

Thanks Chris, this is one of those patterns that you can change body colour, deer hair colour even foam colour
To make it a hopper or caddis, I have used tan and yellow for hoppers on the Thompson in august
