A pattern from Rainy Riding.
Rainy's Bead Back Scud - Originally from Utah, Rainy now lives in Thailand where her fly tying business is located. She has over 350 fly patterns that she has designed and sells - most of which she has the ideas for when she sleeps! This pattern came to her at 3 AM one night in 1984. Check out how the beads form the transparent shell on this tie. This pattern is featured in Joe J. Warren's Tying Glass Bead Flies (December 1, 1997).
Hook - Daiichi 1150mor 1250, 12-16
Thread - color to match beads
Back - 4-6 glass beads, color to suit
Legs - sparkle dub or antron, after tying in should be brushed down (these are a little wild due to transport)
