Went to another nice little lake on the weekend to tryout some of my new chironomids patterns. It was a lake that I had never tried before, wasn’t much for hatches going on except for the one thing I had not tied yet, water boatman. Fishing was quite slow until we found the fish feeding actively in a area on boatman. It didn’t seem to mater what Fly we had on as they were hitting it within seconds of hitting the water, 30 minutes of chaos then it was over. Anyone ever experienced this on the Stillwater’s?

Pumped some stomachs and only managed to get shrimp out, 1/2 inch long green scuds

Someone scrubbed almost all the spots off that fish! Hah!
I can remember one or two occasions of 15 minutes of a lake exploding with a massive hatch and fish everywhere. A storm was rolling in along the interlakes. The fish were making hay while it was good. So were the anglers.
